Final Blog Post

This is the final blog post of the year. I have updated the index (to the left). You may see more at the actual index page right here: http://eravensonline.net/students/267ajo18 If you cannot see the link hover over the blank space. The index page includes information about me and my webpage with descriptions of each webpage. This is one of my favorite webpages as a whole because of how much code is in it.
To the left, is my favorite webpage I made. It gradually changes colors and rotates as you hover over each letter. This was my favorite project I have done because it has very cool transitions and was very hard to code. The webpage was the coolest looking page out of all the websites we made the whole year.

I am lifeguarding, filming, and practicing the ACT over the summer. Lifeguarding is my first job so it's very exciting. I am very booked over the summer with many things to do. I am going to colorado for 10 days too.

I am unfortunately leaving e-comm next year due to attending classes the benefit me for my career choice. This is why I can't stay in the program. I want to become a commercial insurance broker. They are the salesmen of the insurance world and encourage individual clients and/or companies to buy what ever insurance you provide. I have had a very fun time in e-comm learning many things about web and video that I will apply in my lifetime for certain things.

Great Value

_________________________________________________________________________________
Summary
Great Value is a film about a group of video makers who all fight each other on how to make a water commercial. They are all bad at working together and have many problems. In the end there isn't much of a solution. We made this film in our sophomore video production class, this is our final product for our final.
_________________________________________________________________________________
Pre-production
Coming up with a story was very hard with our group, we all had different stories and genres. We decided to make a "The Office" (a tv show) parody. The idea was to make a story about us making a film. When talking about it the idea sounded too complicated but we decided to set out and film the story. We had a very flexible basic script. The team wanted fresh comedy and didn't want bad acting, so we winged it and had some funny shots.

Problems That Occurred
Some problems we had were not bringing the right clothes, fooling around, not cooperating, and have time constraints. We overcame these problems by concentrating and getting to work, even if I had to be a pushy, mean director. In the end our problems didn't intervene in our video.

Editing
When editing I had to cut out a few films to make it less awkward and shorter. In the end I really enjoyed my final product, there weren't many awkward shots as I thought there would be. I was only worried that I didn't have enough shots of interviews and shots in general. These weren't to big of problems in the end.

Overall
I learned how to do well under pressure with time constraints and actors sometimes not cooperating. I learned how to do better at editing with making more sense in my videos. Our team didn't run into too many problems even if at times it was very stressful. Overall I was impressed with hoe the video turned out.

responsive website

A responsive website is a website that adjusts the page to the width of your electronic device. This allows the page to look nice, simplistic, and professional. Responsive websites have become more important nowadays because of the mobile and tablet world raking over changing the way webstites look.

Above is my responsive website going from laptop to mobile view. This shows how the website looks a lot better and efficient as a webpage.

Mobile taking over?

More and more people are using their phone more than their laptop or computer. With mobile devices now the dominant source to use the internet, companies have been focusing more on making the mobile experience better for the consumer.

One way we know that mobile use is on the rise are by stats you can look at about a website or blog. They show the views, bounce rate, types of users, etc. A bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a particular website who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page (Google). The bounce rate fluctuates based on the type of device you are using. For example, the bounce rate of a tablet or phone may be higher than a desktop bounce rate due to people wanting information quick, if you are on your desktop you might be on the website for longer to view multiple things. But when you use a phone, you may be in a hurry to find out one thing.

The use of mobile devices is increasing also due to many more people buying smart phones. Since phones are cheaper and easier to use than computers it is usually the better option to buy. Companies have noticed this and have changed the way they make there websites to make the
mobile experience much better and easier to use.

There are also many more new users everyday and more smartphone units made.

With all these factors tying in the growth of mobile use will continue to grow at this astonishing rate. Mobile use is already king of the internet use and will continue to be for a while.

Blog Improvements

Over the past few days I have changed up my blog to make it look more professional and interesting. Here are the specific things that I changed.

To the left is the new banner I created, it is simple but it adds interest and professionalism.

I added a new background that some would call hipster, but the background shows many things that I like and makes the blog look good.

The side bar has changed with things like a translator, views, photos and more.
The design of everything has changed, the font, text color, page color.
